This is the post that I should have written last week, but with so many things to do I find it tricky to find the time to keep my website up-to-date. However, I haven’t neglected this one as much as I have my baking blog. One day I shall post on there again, especially as I have baked a lot lately. However, I have finally managed to find some time to update and share my latest news.

Where shall I start? Well, last week I had a rejection that really knocked me back, at one point I even considered throwing in the towel and forgetting that I ever started this journey, which at the time seemed pointless. After some days of self-pity I finally pulled myself together and decided to continue on, I’ve come too far to give up now, plus I don’t think I could even if I tried. Even while thinking about giving up, I still had story ideas swimming around my head. What did change, after this unpleasant experience, were my plans and the path that I was on. My original idea was to continue working on my short stories, and in June start reading my novel and prepare to edit. Well, last week I saw a submission call for a novella length story with an interesting theme, and before I knew it the ideas were pouring out. So even though I had planned to get my novel finished, I have decided to put that on hold and write my first novella. Then I will try to get it published, maybe for the submission call or another novella publisher, but I think preparing a novella for submission will ease me into sorting out my novel. So that’s the plan.

I’m hoping that getting a novella published will prove, to me, that I can get a novel published. However, I won’t wait for my novella to get published before I work on my novel. As soon as the novella is written and edited it will be back to my novel. I will then work on my second novel and multiple short stories. Well, that’s the plan for now, but there’re so many twists and turns, and crossroads on this journey that you can’t be 100% sure. I’m just hoping I have taken the right path. I suppose they all lead to the same destination in the end.

Keep writing, folks!
