It has taken me longer than planned, but I have finally finished my new website. As well as a new design I also have a new domain nicole-j-simms.co.uk.

For this design, I wanted something dark and grungy to illustrate what kind of stories to expect from me. However, to show that I don’t only do dark stories, I decided to brighten it up with pink. Pink is my favourite colour. I am happy with the final look.

So, what’s the great news? Well, so far I have had two short story acceptances, and one of the acceptances was from Spinetinglers, which is a website I have been entering my stories to since 2012. I was so happy when I got the email I lost track of 45 minutes, and even to this day I still don’t know what happened. Hmm, there’s a story there, somewhere.

Even after writing for so long now, my successes still surprise me. I think they always will.

My story acceptances aren’t my only achievements. I have finished the first draft of my psychological horror novel; it’s fermenting in a blue box at the moment. I’m hoping to start editing the novel in the spring. I have to admit, I’m feeling a little apprehensive about the whole process. Editing a novel will be more complicated than a short story, but I’m prepared for the hard work. No pain, no gain. In the meantime, I’m wading through my editing pile and planning my supernatural comedy novella series. So much to do and not enough time, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Keep writing, folks!
